JUMP FOR JOY

As a cyclist, Melvin is more of an endurance junkie than a Kool Trick Meister. But this morning on the mountainbike, I killed a few instincts and did some jumps - Big Man!!! 
So here's a new image for our popular She likes Bikes category, with an abundance of cycling essentials.

I take it that most readers won't go for a ride without the company of a hot chick in a white aerobics ensemble, but did you spot the Steve Bauer shades? 

The bike itself is nifty too, must be one of the first full suspensions around. Can anyone decipher the decal? I think the last word is 'Bicycles', you may blow up the picture for more detail. In the name of sports of course.

MELVIN THE MACHINE

If anyone would require further proof that Melvins are most Majestic, show them the work of design studio HEYHEYHEY. Early 2012, they created a Machine called Melvin. It sends postcards using a chain reaction that is wildly inefficient. And totally endearing.

Melvin the Machine is fitted into two suitcases. The oddly related series of events going on in there actually reminds me of my grandmother on the day before my birthday. Steadily pacing her two rooms, she opens an endless number of 'handy' little drawers, even searching the book shelves and the kitchen cabinet, looking for the card she bought me a few weeks ago already.

When she finds it (on the telly, where she had put it especially to not forget the occasion), she writes down the exact same wish as last year. With the exact same amount of love. Then, she takes to the drawers again, looking for a stamp. Finally, she puts the card on the silvered tray in the hall, where it waits for the janitor to put it in the mailbox.

This is not a fast process, nor is the outcome surprising. But my grandmother is making an effort. For me. Just like Melvin, the gentle robot.
